Click for a larger viewCold, snowy weather and a different schedule kept me away from the site. But on returning I found no change from my last visit.

Probably this is a victory for free flowing streams. I communicated with the area manager for Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife about this contest. The reply was that, probably, the Washington Department of Transportation was concerned about water next to SR 202 and kept an eye on this part of the wetland to be sure there was no blockage.

I hope the beaver finds a more congenial setting and builds his dam (or dams). For now, I'll leave this story, perhaps, to ripen and mature.
